I'm Adi, a second-year aerospace engineering student at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. I've been into engineering for as long as I can remember, but high school is where it took shape. I competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition as a CAD student, took part in Model United Nations, and joined The NIR School of the Heart, a leadership program that teaches cardiovascular medicine to students from Palestine, Israel and Jordan.
I got hooked on CFD, combustion and propulsion, high-speed flow, and astronautics. In my first year I built my first CFD solver from scratch to numerically solve the flow equations, and I've been tweaking it and adding features ever since. Later that year I found myself at the Reactive Thermofluidics Lab, where I am a research assistant working on GPU-accelerated CFD models of DDT combustion and rotating detonation engines.
When I'm not simulating flows, I'm building things that fly (or at least generate downforce). I lead the aerodynamics team in the Technion's Formula Student club and work on propulsion in the Rocketry Club.
Two causes matter a lot to me. The first is sustainability, and aerospace happens to be one of the best places to actually do something about it: aviation has a real environmental footprint, and combustion research is one of the few direct ways to shrink it. The second is education access. Programs like FIRST shaped me, so I stayed involved: I mentor CAD in my local robotics team, helping high school students build their ideas in SolidWorks and Onshape, and I've taught robotics and science to kids of different ages.
My goal is to contribute to aerospace in ways that push the industry toward cleaner flight, and to bring people along the way there.
